1. "Philadelphia Record" ran daily articles giving extensive coverage to the creature and those who were willing to come forth with stories of their own personal encounters with it
2. The Philadelphia Zoo to jokingly offer a $10,000 reward for the capture of the Jersey Devil.
3. Norman Jefferies and Jacob Hope, attempted to cash in on the reward by gluing wings and claws onto a live kangaroo which they had acquired. To make the "creature" even more sensational, they painted stripes on the animal as a finishing touch.
4. Several strange tracks in the snow had been produced with a bear paw attached to a wooden rod, the police began to post signs along New Jersey's highways which read, "The Jersey Devil is a Hoax".
5. Keep aware in January, it seems to be his favorite month...
6. While no actual sightings were reported by Riverside residents, tracks were found all through the township on rooftops which resembled that of "small horseshoes". Plaster casts were made from the prints, although it is uncertain if any example of these castings still exists today.
