The first of the wolf-like creature sightings occurred in September of 1989 on the dairy farm of Scott Bray. He said that the beast was larger and taller than a German Shepard and had pointed ears, a hairy tail and long gray and black hair. He added that it was built very heavy in front, as if it had a strong chest. Bray tailed the creature for a while but it vanished without a trace after heading into a rocky outcrop. A young man named Russell Gest had an encounter of his own not soon after the Scott Bray sighting. After hearing some rustling in a thick patch of undergrowth, he ventured into the weeds and was shocked to see a wolf-like animal in the clearing. The creature was standing on its hind feet, took two steps toward him and with that Gest began to run away. He looked back to see that the creature was now on all fours and heading toward Bray Road. While standing upright, Gest noticed that it had an oversized wolf-like head with a big neck and wide shoulders, it was this form that allowed him to surmise that it was a dog-wolf hybrid.
Another sighting that occurred in the fall of 1989 belonged to that of Lorianne Endrizzi. While rounding a curve on Bray Road the headlight lights of her car illuminated a large hairy figure hunched over at the side of the road in a kneeling posture. Slowing down she saw a beast with gray fur that had a long, snouty face like a wolf. She also said the creature had a powerful chest and seemed to be holding something in long arms stretched out in front of it, as a man would. The creature remained unseen until Christmas of that year, when it was sighted by Heather Bowey and her friends. While returning home from an afternoon of sledding, they happened to look up and see what appeared to be a large dog walking along a creek in a snow-covered cornfield. Thinking it was a dog they all began calling to it. The creature looked at them and then stood up on its hind legs. Heather described it as being covered with long silverish-like-brownish hair. The beast took four awkward steps in their direction and then dropped down on all fours and began to run at them in what was described as a ‘bigger leap than dogs run’.
